CBD or CBG - what to choose?

While CBD (cannabidiol) is basking in the consumer limelight, let's not forget that it's not the only cannabinoid found in the hemp plant. In fact, cannabis contains more than a hundred cannabinoids, including CBG (cannabigerol). As the difference in name suggests, it is a sibling relationship, not an identical substance. CBD has found its way into the collective consciousness through its calming effects on the nervous system and potential health benefits. Even CBG is not far behind with possible benefits for our health. But don't look for THC and psychoactive effects in them. So what is the difference between them? And what will be more beneficial for you and your health?

CBD

Main star and cash cow. Numerous studies have already managed to confirm that CBD can act as an effective helper in many health ailments. Its potential anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects also support benefits for the nervous system (anxiety states, paranoia, depression). It can also prove its qualities in diseases such as arthritis, cardiovascular dysfunction or acne. It is a naturally non-addictive substance, so it works as a safe supportive treatment. CBD can be purchased in various forms. The best known and most frequently used form is oil, often enriched with fruit flavor. CBD in the form of a cream or balm works very well to relieve pain and soothe irritated skin. Last but not least, CBD can also be found in water-based nanoliposomal form with much greater absorption efficiency.

CBG

The big difference between CBD and CBG is the number of studies done. Nevertheless, CBG research to date has shown, for example, a significant reduction in intraocular pressure, which is usually caused by glaucoma, or an effective supportive treatment for inflammatory bowel disease and Crohn's disease. Both CBD and CBG potentially possess antioxidant, neuroprotective, and analgesic properties. The combination of these two cannabinoids can then provide strong anti-inflammatory effects. Research has also pointed to the fact that there is a link between the use of cannabinoids and the improvement of bladder dysfunction - and CBG takes the lead here. CBG can also, unlike CBD, potentially improve the course of neurodegenerative diseases.
